At the Henry Soap Company, our philosophy is simple. We believe you live in your skin everyday, and it deserves to be pampered. We believe in simple ingredients put together in a way that reflects the beauty of nature. Skincare does not have to be complicated. The techniques of soap making are age-old and have stood the test of time, and we are bringing them out of the stone ages. Our soap is art that gets you clean.
From the young age of ten I battled very severe cystic acne. This battle with acne followed me all the way through college, where I started rowing competitively and coaching. It seems like I tried every medication and line of makeup there was. Eventually I took a coaching position in Portland, Oregon where I also started working for a natural mineral makeup company. I needed skincare that could stand up to the demands of my athletic career, that could get me clean and protect my sensitive acne prone skin, and that allowed me to stand out as a beautiful, powerful woman. I also wanted to honor the earth as part of my mission. I started making soap as a result of these desires.
Each person’s skin is like a sponge that sucks up whatever we put on it. Topical applications of drugs or make up enter the bloodstream within minutes. This is why as a company we choose to create soap that is both healthy and ethical. Our Essential Oils are 100% pure and our fragrance oils contain zero phthalates. Our palm oil is certified sustainable by the RSPO. Our grapeseed oil is non-GMO and we are both gluten-free and cruelty-free. All of our colors are made using minerals, plants, or food. We have created a product that does not fill a landfill, that is beautifully hand crafted, and that you can feel good about using.
